The largest sub-region here is Grave del Friuli, with more affordable but often less distinctive wines. The fact that this region is so highly praised for its excellent white and red wines is due not only to the soil but, above all, to the climate.

Fourth ripening period, last ten days of September and first ten days of October. Refined for over a year in large oak casks.

Intense red, shining with light garnet nuances. Lightly herbaceous flavour, of ripe wild fruit and plums.
